With the 0-1 loss to Syria, India was thrown out of the Asian Cup at the group stage itself, like the last time in 2019.

This is the Blue Tigers’ third consecutive loss. But unlike the last time, they could not score any goals, losing 0-2 to Australia and 0-3 to Uzbekistan.

Half-time substitute Omar Khrbin was the difference, the forward scoring the goal that saw the Qasioun Eagles reach the Asian Cup last 16 (2nd round) for the first time, as one of the four best third-placed teams.

Despite the promise of a good fight by coach Igor Stimac before the tournament, except in the first match, it didn’t turn out to be so.
