Kylian Mbappé has made it official: He will be bidding farewell to Paris Saint-Germain at the conclusion of the season, with all signs pointing to a move to Real Madrid.

This announcement brings Real Madrid closer to realising their long-held ambition of signing the French international, widely hailed as one of the premier talents in global football.

PSG’s upcoming match against Toulouse at the Parc des Princes on Sunday will mark Mbappé’s final appearance on home turf. His swansong for the club is scheduled to be the French Cup final clash against Lyon on May 15.

In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, Mbappé revealed, “Hi everyone, it’s Kylian. I wanted to take this moment to address you all. As I’ve promised, I’m speaking to you now that the time has come. I want to inform you that this will be my last season with Paris Saint-Germain.”

“I have decided not to extend my contract, and this chapter will come to a close in a matter of weeks. My last match at the Parc des Princes will be this Sunday.”

In 2017, following a stellar stint with Monaco, Mbappé came close to joining Real Madrid. However, he ultimately chose PSG after the club sealed a record-breaking deal of €180 million for a teenager.

Mbappé subsequently rose to prominence as PSG’s captain and leading goal-scorer, netting a remarkable 255 goals and securing six Ligue 1 titles in just seven seasons.

On the international stage, he played a pivotal role in France’s World Cup triumph in 2018 and delivered a sensational hat trick in their World Cup final showdown against Argentina four years later.
