Bard to be integrated into Android

Facing strong competition from Microsoft’s Bing, Alphabet has decided to integrate its native AI platform, Bard into the Android platform so that mobile users can exploit its capabilities too.

There was a time when the Google search engine had almost no competition. Microsoft’s Bing had been edging closer, but too slowly to become a proper competition.

But then, Microsoft integrated ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence (AI)-based knowledge platform (whose parent company, OpenAI, Microsoft had invested in), into Bing, into both the Web and mobile versions. And suddenly, it had a distinct advantage.

Sniffing strong competition, Alphabet (Google’s parent company) fast-forwarded the release and integration of its own Bard AI platform into the Web version of Google Search. Though most say, as of now at least, ChatGPT is the winner in terms of usability.

To make Bard more popular, Alphabet has now decided to integrate it into the Android—either integrated into the Google Search app or as a standalone app—so that mobile users can take advantage of its AI capabilities.

This decision is a significant step in the growing battle of using AI to make the experience of internet much more wholesome.
