India lost its second group match in the Asian Cup 3-0 to Uzbekistan on Thursday, January 18.

Though a better team, Uzbekistan isn’t as good as Australia. But the account that the Blue Tigers gave of themselves against the Socceroos wasn’t repeated against the Central Asians.

All three goals for the Uzbeks came in the first half.

Igor Stimac’s side can still qualify for the second round, but it is a stretch. The top two teams from each of the six groups and the four best third-placed teams qualify.

Therefore, the Blue Tigers will need to win against Syria on January 23 and keep the goal difference in check.
