A ‘Raga Seva’ (‘Ser vice Through Ragas’) has commenced at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya from January 6, which will continue till March 10, for a period of 45 days.

As part of it, more than 100 well-known artistes from across the country will perform at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, in front of the statue of Ram Lala (infant Ram), as a form of service to the deity.

From Bengal, the world-renowned folk singer Purna Das Baul, has received the invitation to perform.

Expressing his joy, the musician remarked, “I am delighted to bring happiness as a wandering Baul, going from village to village, often overlooked. Many thanks for considering me.”

Among the other performers are this year’s Padma Vibhushan awardee Vyjayanthimala Bali, Hema Malini, Malini Awasthi, Anup Jalota, Anuradha Paudwal and Sonal Mansingh.
