Unbeaten Buttler, Hales take England to T20 WC final

November 10, 2022 | < 1 min read

A superb unbeaten partnership of 166 (with 4 extra runs) between captain Jos Buttler and Alex Hales, in 16 overs, at Adelaide Oval against India took England smoothly to the final of the 2022 Twenty20 World Cup final.

India scored 168 for 6 in its allotted 20 overs, which was a fighting score for a Twenty20 match. But it proved to be too little for the rampaging and confident opening pair of England.

For England, opener Jos Buttler was 80 not out while Hales was 86 not out. For India, Hardik Pandya scored a superb 63 in just 33 and Virat Kohli scored a half-century in 40 balls.

England will face a resurgent Pakistan in the final on Sunday, the latter sneaking in through the back door to the semis but then beating match favourite New Zealand convincingly.
