Trinamool releases video reiterating Abhishek’s challenge to BJP

April 24, 2024 | < 1 min read

Trinamool Congress’s parliamentary party leader in the Rajya Sabha Derek O’Brien was seen holding a paper saying, ‘TMC’s Abhishek’s open challenge to BJP’ in a video released by the party reiterating Abhishek Banerjee’s challenge to the lotus brigade to release a white paper on why Union government funds have been frozen for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Act (MGNREGA) Scheme workers of Bengal.

Forty-two days have passed since Trinamool Congress’s National General Secretary and the party’s MP from Bengal’s Diamond Harbour Abhishek Banerjee had accused the BJP of indulging in vindictive politics and freezing fund money. He went on to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party on proving him wrong by releasing a white-paper clarification as to why the pipes have clogged.

Earlier, Banerjee had asked the BJP, by replying to one of their posts on the social media platform X, to join him on a one-on-one debate on MGNREGA. But, no BJP leader showed up for the challenge.

The video released by Trinamool is in the tunes of a popular Bengali band song ‘Tomar Dekha Naai’ (’You are nowhere to be found’), mocking the BJP for running away from the fight.

The video starring O’Brien has made it clear that when it comes to real issues, BJP leaders are ‘nowhere to be found’.
