Trinamool fact-finding mission for Manipur

July 10, 2023 | < 1 min read

A four-member fact-finding delegation from the All India Trinamool Congress will visit strife-torn Manipur on Friday, July 14, announced the party through its official Twitter handle.

The team, comprising MPs Derek O’Brien, Kalyan Banerjee, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Dola Sen “will reach out to those affected and provide some healing comfort”, said the tweet, continuing in the same breadth that the so-called “‘double-engine’ state” has been “ignored” by the BJP government ever since the ethnic clashes between the Meiteis and the Kukis started on May 3.

Recently, a delegation of Left Front MPs from Kerala had also gone on a three-day visit to the state. They met those affected, who are staying in relief camps.

In June, Rahul Gandhi visited the state, followed by a delegation of Congress MPs, also from Kerala.
