TMC delegation to sit in a 24 hr ‘dharna’ inside Delhi’s Mandir Marg PS

The Trinamool Congress delegation, which was detained from outside Delhi’s Nirvachan Sadan has decided to sit in a 24-hour-long dharna inside the Mandir Marg police station in protest of their detainment from a peaceful protest.

Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has sought time from Bengal governor C.V. Ananda Bose regarding the detainment of the party’s delegation team from outside the Nirvachan Sadan in Delhi.

The Delhi Police detained numerous Trinamool Congress leaders during a demonstration outside the Election Commission office. Prominent figures from the TMC initiated a 24-hour sit-in protest on Monday afternoon subsequent to a meeting with a full bench of the electoral body. Opposition MPs have demanded a shift in leadership within central agencies such as the CBI, NIA, ED, and Income Tax Department.

Trinamool MPs Derek O’Brien, Sagarika Ghose, Dola Sen, Saket Gokhale, Nadimul Haque, student leader Sudip Raha, ex-MPs Abir Ranjan Biswas, Dr. Shantanu Sen, Arpita Ghosh, Vivek Gupta were detained by the police in Delhi.
