Sourav Ganguly tweets about starting a new chapter in his life

June 1, 2022 | < 1 min read

A cryptic tweet today by BCCI president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly has set the rumour mills afire. The same post was posted on Facebook as well.

He began the tweet by mentioning the fact that 2022 marks “the 30th year since the start of my journey with cricket”. He went on to thank everyone who helped him in his journey so far. And then he dropped the bombshell: “Today, I am planning to start something that I feel will probably help a lot of people. I hope you continue your support as I enter this chapter of my life.”

So what is the “chapter”? There can only be speculations. Some people are saying he’s entering politics, considering that Home Minister Amit Shah dined at his house in Kolkata during his recent visit to Kolkata, with some sources adding that they met after the IPL final in Ahmedabad as well. Some are going to the extent of speculating he will be one of the BJP’s nominated MPs to the Rajya Sabha.

Then, there are the more mundane possibilities, like a BCCI official claiming, as per another source, that the Prince of Kolkata is starting an NGO of his own.

It’s all in the realm of possibilities now. Whatever it will be, we will keep you updated on the next “chapter of my life”.
