Resentment among Bengal BJP leaders

Resentment among a section of Bengal BJP leaders at being apparently ignored by the national leadership

In recent times, a sea change has been brough about in the BJP’s organisational structures at both the state and national levels. Those who have joined the party from the Trinamool Congress have been given importance.

Former Trinamoolmembers Bharati Ghosh and Arjun Singh have been made state vice-presidents.

Long-tine national general secretary Rahul Sinha has been replaced by the former Trinamool MP, Anupam Hazra.

Former Trinamool national general secretary Mukul Roy has been promoted directly from an ordinary member of the national executive to a national vice-president.

All these elevations of former Trinamool politicians have caused resentment among long-time leaders and workers of the saffron party. According to them, the party leadership is not giving due recognition to loyalty.

In such a situation, is there a likelihood of a large number of BJP leaders and workers joining Trinamool? This now seems a real possibility.
