Raj Bhavan staff spotted carrying bag of woman accusing guv of sexual harassment

May 13, 2024 | < 1 min read

In a significant development, CCTV footage from the Raj Bhavan compound has shown a staff member carrying a bag believed to be that of the woman who has accused Governor CV Ananda Bose of physical harassment. Police analysis suggests this aligns with the complainant’s assertion that her belongings were forcibly taken to prevent her from leaving the Raj Bhavan.

The complainant, a junior staffer at the governor’s house, detailed to the police how her phone and bag were allegedly snatched by another female staffer (whose identity is withheld) in the EPABX room on the first floor. This occurred after she voiced objections following an encounter in the governor’s room on May 2.

Further examination of the CCTV footage reveals the same staff member carrying the woman’s bag and lingering near the police outpost while she filed her complaint.

Following these revelations, city police have summoned an additional six Raj Bhavan employees to the Hare Street police station as part of the ongoing investigation into the allegations.
