Always keep water with you; drink a few sips at regular intervals, even if you are not thirsty.

Drink home-made sherbat and lime water, and have watery fruits like watermelon, cucumber and others.

If you feel sick, immediately visit a doctor or the nearest clinic.

What not to do

Try not to go out when the heat is scorching. If you have to, ensure not to keep standing at one place for too long.

It is better not to do physically strenuous during the daytime.

Especially if out in the sun, don’t drink too much tea, coffee, bottled cold beverages or alcohol.

Primary health care

If you find anyone feeling sick due to the heat, first take them to a cool place.

Offer water or ORS solution. Sprinkle water all over the body, including the head. Fan swiftly with a cloth or anything else to cool down the person.

If unconscious, lay the person on the side and, in that position, take them to the nearest health centre/ clinic/ hospital.
