Now visit zoos at the touch of a button; Daily Facebook Live from Alipore and Darjeeling zoo

The COVID-19 pandemic is causing many children to get bored as they cannot go out of their homes much – be it for playing or trips with parents and friends. In such a situation, two of the major zoological gardens in Bengal, Alipore Zoo in Kolkata and Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park in Darjeeling, have come up with a novel effort – telecasting live the activities of animals in their enclosures.

The live telecast is happening on the Facebook pages of the two zoos every day in two one-hour slots – 9 am to 10 am and 3 pm to 4 pm.

Seeing the animals and reptiles, that too telecast live, once again after many months has brought joy to children. The parents are also happy as their children now have some sort of entertainment, which is educational as well, to look forward to.
