North-South Metro passenger count almost 7.5 lakh on Chaturthi

Footfall on the North-South Metro almost touched the 7.5 lakh-mark on Chaturthi, which fell on October 18. This being early days, Metro officials said, there are hopes of newer records regarding footfall.

On Chaturthi, 288 services were plied to cater to 7,49,160 passengers, up from 7,06,657 passengers the previous day, which was Tritiya.

The maximum passenger count of 76,587 was recorded at Dum Dum Metro Station, followed by 53,020 at Esplanade, 52,120 at Kalighat and 45,103 at Rabindra Sadan.
