Amidst the scorching heatwave sweeping across India, when temperatures have soared above 40˚C in nearly every region, a recent incident has surfaced involving a TV anchor from Doordarshan who fainted due to a sudden drop in her blood pressure.

As reported by NDTV, Lopamudra Sinha, an anchor of Doordarshan Kolkata, was heard slurring her words while delivering the news before collapsing. In a video shared on her Facebook page, she recounted, “The teleprompter faded away and I blacked out… I collapsed on my chair.”

Sinha later clarified that her fainting spell was a result of the intense heat and a sudden plummet in her blood pressure. She also mentioned that there was extreme heat within the studio due to a malfunction in the cooling system, which she also said was unusual.
