Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai has opted to withdraw his defamation case against former All India Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra in the Delhi High Court.

During the proceedings, Dehadrai’s counsel expressed willingness to withdraw the lawsuit on the condition that Moitra refrains from making false statements against him.

Dehadrai had initiated legal action against Moitra, alleging that she made defamatory remarks about him, including labeling him as “jobless” and “jilted” in media interviews.

Justice Jalan observed that resolving the matter privately, without public allegations, would be beneficial for both parties. The court suggested that the lawyers collaborate to draft an order applicable to both sides, promoting a resolution away from the public eye.
