Disgruntled Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh has made peace with the party after meeting MP and Parliamentary Party Leader (Rajya Sabha) Derek O’Brien and Bengal education minister Bratya Basu at the former’s office in Beckbagan in Kolkata.

Ghosh told the press after the meeting that posts don’t matter; it is his love for Trinamool Congress that is of primary importance. He expressed his happiness over the functioning of the party.

The strife began after Kunal attended an event alongside North Kolkata BJP candidate and till recently, the Trinamool Congress’s Baranagar MLA, Tapas Roy and hailed him for being a “man of the people”. This was followed by a notification from Trinamool Congress, signed by Derek O’Brien, removing Ghosh from the post of the party’s state general secretary.

Kunal launched verbal attacks against O’Brien after this.

Today’s meeting has probably applied the much-needed balm over the bruise, political analysts concur.
