.ITI coming up in Dhaniakhli block in Hooghly district

The state government is setting up an industrial training institute (ITI) at Mukundapur village in Dhaniakhali block in Hooghly district.

The work on the 2,250 square metre-building, inside a 2.72-acre campus, is almost complete.

The ground floor would contain five workshops, a common room, seminar hall, store, canteen and a reception area. The first floor would contain the classrooms.

An amount of Rs 7.26 crore has been used for the entire project (building and other infrastructure).

This project has been taken up to improve employment opportunities for the youth in the surrounding rural areas.

The local rural youth are naturally enthused at the thought of getting employment-linked education opportunities at an ITI.
