Hangzhou Asian Games: 5 medals on day 1 for India

India bagged three medals on the first day of competition at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, on Sunday, September 24. Three came from rowing and two from shooting.

The first medals were won in shooting and all by women—silver in 10m air rifle team and 10m air rifle individual.

Three men’s teams in three categories won medals in rowing—silver in lightweight men’s double sculls and men’s eight, and bronze in men’s pair.
