Guv orders Kolkata Police to leave Raj Bhavan

June 18, 2024 | < 1 min read

On June 17, Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose directed Kolkata Police personnel stationed at the Raj Bhavan to vacate the premises immediately.

This directive follows an investigation launched against the governor for allegedly molesting and sexually assaulting a female Raj Bhavan staff member.

The decision comes just days after police blocked BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari and alleged victims of post-poll violence from entering the Raj Bhavan, despite having written permission from the governor to meet him.

Governor Bose has announced plans to transform the Raj Bhavan into a ‘Jan Manch’ to meet with BJP workers who claim to have been victims of post-poll violence following Trinamool Congress’ sweeping victories across the state.
