The Bengal government has tied up with a Gurgaon-based technology-based transport solutions company to have driving licences delivered to people’s homes from June 1 against a fee of Rs 200.

From June 1, for a sum of Rs 200, people in Bengal can get their driving licence delivered to their homes.

The service will be provided by a Gurgaon-based company offering technology-based transport solutions, with which the state government has tied up.

The company will receive applications of candidates clearing their tests from Kolkata and the districts, which it will then process into the driving licence in the form of an ATM card-sized card, fix a chip to it and deliver it through the post-office.

The delivery of the card will take place within a week of clearing the final test.

The registration certificate (RC) of a vehicle will be also delivered in the same manner and against the same fee.

The company will work from the office of the Motor Vehicles Department in Beltala, Bhowanipore.
