In another blatant misuse of power and government agencies, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today raided the Kolkata residence of suspended MP and Trinamool Congress’ candidate from Krishnanagar, Mahua Moitra.

This followed a day after the agency filed a first information report (FIR) against her.

The anti-corruption body Lokpal had instructed the CBI earlier this week to investigate the cash-for-query accusations against Moitra and provide a report within six months, along with monthly progress reports.

Mahua Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha in December of the previous year.
