Bout of heavy rain provides welcome relief
Various reports on Thursday quoted Met officials saying monsoon has set foot in Kerala and that it will arrive in Bengal in four to five days, that is, on Sunday at the earliest.
Well, a bout of heavy shower fell on the city today afternoon, giving the people of Kolkata a welcome relief. Whether the monsoon has arrived early or whether this was a one-off shower remains to be seen.
The last ten days or so have been terribly hot, and often humid as well. The weather has cooled quite a bit and Kolkatans are hoping for the best in the coming days.
