The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), experts at advertising ‘Beti Bachao’ but engaged in ‘Beti Atyachar’, has kept alleged molester Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s legacy alive by fielding his son from his constituency.

On Thursday, the BJP selected Karan Bhushan Singh, the son of the former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, as its candidate for the Kaiserganj seat in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

This choice comes as Brij Bhushan Singh, a three-time representative of Kaiserganj, has been left out of the party’s ticket this election cycle. His exclusion comes amid accusations of sexual harassment from female wrestlers, leading to widespread protests, including notable ones like Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat. The Delhi Police filed a chargesheet related to the case against the former WFI chief in June last year.
