Increase of Rs 400 crore despite national economic slowdown

Compared to June, GST collection in Bengal in July has increased by Rs 400 crore. In fact, in July, the combined total of SGST and IGST collected in Bengal has crossed Rs 2,000 crore.

At the same time, across the country, compared to June, GST collection in July has come down by Rs 3,495 crore.

Experts believe the planned way in which the various phases of lockdown and unlock have been conducted has enabled businesses to reduce their losses to the minimum.

Compared to the economies of other states, that of Bengal is in a much better health.
