Bengal comes out on top in Google’s Workplace Mobility survey

Bengal has made a place for itself at the very top when it comes to the challenge of taking the economy back to normal, or rather, the new normal.

To know the state of the country’s economy, Google conducted a country-wide survey called Workplace Mobility from August to September 2020.

The survey considered things like whether offices and other workplaces are opening up normally despite the COVID-19 pandemic, whether employee attendance is up to the mark, and even if so, whether they are working according to normal schedule, etc.

In comparison to the same period last year, Bengal had a 4 per cent increase in workplace mobility.

Other the Bengal, only Tamil Nadu and Delhi notched up positive scores—of 2.3 per cent and 1.4 per cent, respectively.

The all-India score for the Workplace Mobility survey for the period of August to September 2020 was a dismal −2.1 per cent.
