Bengal Gov Bose molested Raj Bhavan staffer, allegations surface

A female employee at Kolkata’s Raj Bhavan on Thursday accused Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose of sexual harassment. She filed a complaint at the Hare Street Police Station.

The incident occurred just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the city for a night stay, ahead of his three election rallies in the state on Friday.

Responding to the accusations, Governor Bose gave out a statement through the Raj Bhavan: “I won’t succumb to orchestrated narratives. Truth will prevail. I won’t yield to manipulated stories. If someone seeks political gain by defaming me, let them. But they won’t hinder my fight against corruption and violence in Bengal.”

The ruling Trinamool Congress expressed dismay, stating, “The sanctity of Raj Bhavan, a symbol of our constitutionality, has been compromised. A woman was allegedly molested by the governor under the guise of a job opportunity, just hours before PM Narendra Modi’s planned stay.”

The party has demanded swift justice for the victim, without any excuses or delays.
