  • The seventh Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) is being attended by several hundred companies from 35 countries, with 17 of them as official partners, including the UK, the US, Australia, Korea, Japan, Germany and France.
  • Bengal is one of the fastest-growing economic powerhouses in the country. Its revenue has grown by four times, its total budget allocation has increased by 3.8 times and its capital expenditure has increased by nine times: Mamata Banerjee

  • Rishad Premji, chairman of Wipro, confirmed the company’s Rs 200 crore investment for the upcoming second Wipro campus in Rajarhat.
  • RPG Group has invested Rs 25,000 crore in Bengal over the last few years: Sanjeev Goenka
  • The UK government released a roadmap for establishing an Intelligent Mobility Skill Centre (IMSC) in Bengal.
  • Through ASPIRE, a UK government project, NPTC Wales and Snap E, an electric taxi provider in Kolkata, will collaborate with the Bengal government in providing training to women to drive electric cabs. This initiative will empower women while contributing to air pollution reduction and emission mitigation.
  • Through its PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transition) programme, the British government is engaging with the state’s Department of Transport Corporation on the exchange of knowledge regarding strategies for accelerating the adoption of clean mobility, the statement added.
