8th edition of Duare Sarkar gets 80 lakh footfalls

The eighth instalment of the Duare Sarkar camps, conducted from December 15 to 31, experienced a turnout of 8 million people across over 100,000 camps.

The services primarily sought after during these sessions were Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha, Aikyashree, Lakshmir Bhandar, Swasthya Sathi and Aadhaar-related schemes.

According to an official statement, the provision of services at these camps will continue till January 31.

The total count of registered attendees at the camps reached 8,04,440. Murshidabad recorded the highest turnout, exceeding 8.99 lakh, followed by North 24-Parganas with over 8.30 lakh, South 24-Parganas with over 7.86 lakh, East Midnapore with over 6.09 lakh, and West Midnapore with over 6.08 lakh.

Swasthya Sathi, one of the blockbuster schemes of the state government, has extended coverage to 24 million families, providing free hospitalisation for 6.4 million patients. The other blockbuster scheme, Kanyashree, has successfully registered 28 million applicants and approved 27 million applications.
