Elaborate arrangements have been made by the state government to ensure smooth movement of people to and from the Durga Puja Carnival to be held on Red Road (Indira Gandhi Sarani) on Friday, October 27.

The Bengal Transport Department had requested the West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC) to ensure adequate transport arrangements till midnight. As a result, the WBTC will ply 23 additional buses on different routes to and from Esplanade. These special buses will report at the L-20 Bus Stand at Esplanade, Kolkata at 3 pm.

The Bengal government has asked the Kolkata Metro Railway authorities to ensure train services till midnight on the day.

The Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Kolkata, has also written to all private bus, minibus, taxi and auto-rickshaw unions to ensure the availability of sufficient public transport.
