Swiggy & Zomato going big on home-cooked meals

May 17, 2024 | < 1 min read

Food delivery giants Swiggy and Zomato have revamped their home-cooked meals services. While Swiggy has brought back its delivery service, Swiggy Daily, after a hiatus of four years, Zomato is aiming to expand and scale its version of the home-cooked meals delivery service, Zomato Everyday from Gurugram to Bengaluru and Mumbai.

Swiggy had started its service in 2019 but discontinued it after facing low demands in the successive lockdown periods during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was recently relaunched in Bengaluru.

The USP of the home-cooked meals service is the choice of having healthy food at the workplace, or for those staying in hostels and paying guest facilities with limited or no options for cooking.

Swiggy Daily offers flexible subscription options, with plans ranging from three days to a month.

After a successful debut in Gurugram in 2023, Zomato is planning to offer the fare in the coming months in Bengaluru and Mumbai. Currently, Zomato Everyday starts at Rs 89 per meal.
