Saif Ali Khan stabbed multiple times, out of danger post surgery

Actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his house in Mumbai, the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra, past midnight today, and stabbed six times as a result.

The police is describing the motive of the attack as robbery. The intruder entered Saif and his wife Kareena Kapoor’s flat through the emergency fire exit. A nurse employed by Saif Ali Khan gave a terrifying and detailed account to Bandra Police of how the robber barged in on the actor and demanded Rs 1 crore before attacking her and Khan.

Some sources have described the attacker as a member of his staff. He who was caught on CCTV camera exiting down the stairs, which footage which released to the media.

The actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital at 2 am where emergency was performed on him. Among the six stab wounds, two were critical, including one which was the result of the lodging in of a 2.5 cm broken portion of a knife.

Dr Nitin Dange, who performed the surgery, updated the media about his health and said he’s now safe. “He sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine. A surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one other on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team. He is completely stable now. He is recovering well and out of danger now.”

The actor’s help too sustained an injury, and was seen with a bandaged hand earlier this afternoon.

The family issued a statement which read, “There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation.”
