Helpline number for airport cab booking

Kolkata Airport gets pandemic-appropriate passenger-friendly pre-paid cab booking system

The Bidhannagar Police has made life easier for travellers arriving in the city. The pre-paid cab booking system has just got more convenient.

The new system was launched on Monday by the Deputy Commissioner, Traffic of Bidhannagar City Police.

A new helpline number was launched by the police. A passenger has to give a missed call to the helpline, following which they would receive a text message containing a one-time password (OTP), along with a designated time slot.

During the given time slot, the passenger has to approach one of the two pre-paid counters and provide the OTP, and then the payment has to be made.

This new system has been started with the pandemic-related restrictions in mind. Since passengers know their time slots beforehand, they need not crowd at the counters in anxiety. They can rather wait inside the airport or outside rather than get in a long queue.

The system will also discourage unauthorised cabs and touts. And a missed call will be a handy tool for one and all, including elderly and first-time flyers.
