Extra metro services in the east-west corridor for Kolkata Book Fair

Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation (KMRC) will operate metro services on Sundays as well in the Sealdah-to-Salt Lake sector from January 18 to 31 to facilitate visitors to the 47th International Kolkata Book Fair at Boimela Prangan in Salt Lake.

There are two Sundays during this period—January 21 and January 28. On these two days, a total of 80 services—40 east-bound and 40 west-bound—will be provided.

They will be available from 12.55 pm to 10 pm, with a frequency of 12 minutes between 2.55 pm and 9:19 pm. The first service from Sealdah will commence at 12.55 pm and from Salt Lake Sector V at 1 pm, while the last service will depart at 9.35 pm and 9.40 pm, respectively.

Additionally, KMRC will operate extra services from Monday to Saturday throughout the period of the book fair, totalling 120 services (60 east-bound and 60 west-bound) per day, instead of the usual 106.

Weekday services will be available from 6.55 am to 10 pm, with a 12-minute frequency between 2.55 pm and 9.19 pm.

The first services from Sealdah and Salt Lake Sector V will start at 6.55 am and 7 am, respectively, and the last services from at 9.35 pm and 9.40 pm, respectively.

Also, two app-cab parking lots have been set up. One at Gate 1 of of the Boimela Prangan for Uber, and the other at Gate 7 for Yatri Sathi.
