Security has been tightened at the Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri borders to prevent the large-scale farmers’ protest in Delhi scheduled for tomorrow (February 13), which is being referred to as the ‘Dilli Chalo’ march.

Barricades have been set up at these borders to hinder the entry of farmers into the national capital region. Officials mentioned that nails have been strategically placed on the roads to puncture the tyres of any vehicle that my be used by the protesting farmers to attempt to enter the city.

Over 200 farmer unions are anticipated to commence the march tomorrow in support of various demands, including the passing of legislation for the establishment of a minimum support price (MSP) regime, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations, pension for farmers and agricultural labourers, relief from agricultural debt, withdrawal of police cases and justice for those affected by the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri.
