The eagerly-awaited Bengal Pro T20 League (BPL), organised by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), is scheduled to commence immediately after the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year, in early June.

The CAB will oversee both the men’s and women’s tournaments, each of which will feature eight franchises comprised exclusively of players from Bengal.

Franchises in the BPL will adopt names representing cities and districts from across Bengal, to ensure comprehensive representation and extensive outreach throughout the state.

The men’s matches are slated for the iconic Eden Gardens, while the women’s fixtures will be hosted at the BCCI-endorsed Salt Lake Campus Ground of Jadavpur University.

Notable entities such as Red Chillies Entertainment, RPSG (owners of IPL franchises Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants, respectively), Bandhan Bank, Rashmi Cement and Shrachi Group are among those expected to invest in the BPL franchises.

Live coverage of the matches will be broadcast on prominent sports channels and OTT streaming platforms.
