AAP’s claim of 10 lakh jobs is a big lie, but then, what else can we expect from BJP’s B team?

July 4, 2022 | < 1 min read

As opposed to the grand claim made by Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal of his government’s Rozgar Bazaar portal having helped Delhiites get 10 lakh jobs in the private sector, analysis of the data from the portal by The Hindu has revealed that only 12,588 people actually got jobs.

Over the course of a little less than two years, from July 2020 till May 1, 2022, only 76,646 candidates were screened by those who posted the jobs, and from among them, just 12,588 were selected.

To showcase the Kejriwal model of governance, AAP representatives have used the figure of 10 lakh on various occasions, from election rallies to interviews to press conferences to the latest Budget speech. But The Hindu’s investigation has put paid to the tall claim of AAP.

But then, again, what else can be expected from the B team of BJP? It has simply learnt from its master how to inflate and play with numbers. It is still dithering on who to support in the presidential election, but that it will be BJP’s chosen candidate can be easily guessed by anyone following current trends.
