Australia beats New Zealand for 1st T20 World Cup title

Australia won the game at the grand Dubai International Stadium, throbbing with colourful and noisy spectators, with seven balls to spare, thanks to half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh and David Warner. Josh Hazlewood was the pick of its bowlers with 3 for 16 while Adam Zampa returned figures of 1 for 26.
Earlier, skipper Kane Williamson smashed a brilliant 48-ball 85 as New Zealand managed to reach a total of 172/4 from its quota of 20 overs. Australia won the toss and skipper Aaron Finch elected to bowl.
Both Australia and New Zealand finished second in their groups behind England and Pakistan, respectively. While New Zealand edged out England in the first semi-final at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Australia defeated an in-form Pakistan in the second semi-final in Dubai.
