The Rath Yatra Festival will start tomorrow, June 20 and culminate with the event of Ulto Rath after nine days. Here are short descriptions of some famous Rath Yatras in Bengal.

Mahesh Rath Yatra: The Mahesh Rath Yatra goes back to the 14th century. It is celebrated in the locality of Mahesh in Serampore. The Rath Yatra is devoted to Lord Shiva, also known as Mahesh. The highlight of this yatra is the awe-inspiring sight of the towering raths carrying the deities, accompanied by a vibrant procession of devotees, drummers, and musicians.

ISKCON Rath Yatra, Kolkata: In the ISKCON Rath Yatra in Kolkata, devotees from all walks of life gather to celebrate the timeless wisdom and divine grace of Lord Krishna. The resplendent chariots, meticulously crafted and adorned with ornate decorations, carry Lord Krishna, along with Balarama and Subhadra. People from diverse backgrounds and cultures join hands, transcending barriers and celebrating the universal message of love and devotion.

Chandannagar Rath Yatra: In the Chandannagar Rath Yatra, amidst the kaleidoscope of colours and the fragrance of incense, the town unites in a celebration that transcends religious boundaries.
