Novak Djokovic won his third French Open title and record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam title by beating Casper Ruud in straight sets, 7-6(1), 6-3, 7-5.

He previously shared the Grand Slam title record with Rafael Nadal, who missed his favourite Grand Slam due to injury.

For Ruud, it was the second runner-up title in a row, having lost to Rafael Nadal last year, also in straight sets.

At the age of 36 years and 20 days, Djokovic also set the record of being the oldest men’s champion at the clay Major, beating Nadal’s record set in 2022 by 18 days.
