Season 5 of the successful Tennis Premier League (TPL) in India will see a new team – a Bengal-based franchise whose owners will be star player and record-holder Leander Paes and Yatin Gupte, the chairman of Wardwizard Group. The name of this eighth franchise is yet to be decided.

They will compete against the likes of the Mumbai Leon Army, Punjab Tigers, Pune Jaguars, Bengaluru Spartans, Delhi Binny’s Brigade, Hyderabad Strikers and Gujarat Panthers.

All the games of the fifth season will be played in the Balewadi Stadium in Pune, and will be organised by the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA).
