MR Bangur Hospital again adjudged best in Bengal by the Centre

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, under its Sushri Kalaykalpa scheme, has awarded MR Bangur Hospital the best district hospital, for the third consecutive year.

For the third consecutive year, MR Bangur Hospital, part of South 24 Parganas district in terms of health administration but located in Kolkata, has been adjudged the best district hospital in Bengal by the National Health System Resource Centre, under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Various parameters like infrastructure, quality of health services (including reduction of maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate, indoor and outdoor services, cleanliness of the operation theatre) and others were considered for the award under a scheme called Sushri Kalaykalpa.

From Bengal, 13 district hospitals, 30 subdivisional hospitals and 16 state general hospitals were considered for the award under various categories. MR Bangur first won this award in 2021, followed by in 2022.
