Bengal Higher Secondary examination results published; 272 capture top 10 spots

The Bengal Higher Secondary examination results were published on Friday, June 10 by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE).

The results can be downloaded from the two websites of the Council: wbresults.nic.in and wbchse.nic.in. The result can also be accessed via SMS, by sending the WB12 registration number to 56070, 5676750 or 56263.

Remarkably, the top 10 spots have been occupied by a total of 272 students.

The top three rank-holders are (the third spot being occupied by four students):

  1. Adisha Deb Sharma (Dinahata Soni Debi Jain High School, Cooch Behar): 498 out of 500 (99.6%)
  2. Sayandeep Samanta (Jalchak Nateswari Netaji Vidyayatan, West Midnapore): 497 out of 500 (99.4%)
  3. Rohin Sen (Patha Bhawan, Kolkata), Soham Das (Hooghly Collegiate School, Hooghly), Avik Das (Katwa Kashiram Das Institution, East Burdwan), Parichay Pari (Jalchak Nateswari Netaji Vidyayatan, West Midnapore): 496 out of 500 (99.2%)

The total pass percentage is 88.44, that is, those per cent of candidates cleared the examination, while the pass percentage among male students is 90.19 and among female students is 86.58.

The districts of East Midnapore, West Midnapore, Jhargram, Purulia, Kalimpong, South 24 Parganas and Bankura recorded a pass percentage of over 90 per cent.
