“I will not stop”: Arjun Singh’s explosive post on social media

May 20, 2022 | 2 min read

“I will not stop till I meet the purpose of protecting jute farmers, workers and the jute industry and regain its lost glory” – came the latest loaded tweet from the BJP MP from Bengal, Arjun Singh earlier today.

As per him, the removal of the recently-announced price ceiling for raw jute, which can lead to better sustenance for both jute farmers and jute mill owners, was removed by the jute commissioner through a notification only because of the sustained pressure created by him.

However, he did not forget to add that this was only a small step towards a larger aim – “I will not stop till I meet the purpose of protecting jute farmers, workers and the jute industry.”

Interestingly, the BJP MP has tagged people like Trinamool Congress MPs Kalyan Banerjee, Khalilur Rahman and Abu Taher, and Congress’s Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury.

He, therefore, seems to want to bring the politicians of Bengal together in the fight he is leading for the welfare of everyone involved in the jute industry. It must be remembered, and Arjun Singh has said it before, that a large part of his voter base in his constituency of Barrackpore consists of jute workers and jute farmers.

He had also posted the notice of the jute commissioner’s removing the price ceiling yesterday.

So what exactly does Arjun Singh want to indicate through his latest post? Whatever it is, the post is sure to keep the rumours of his going back to Trinamool alive.
