8-day truncated Budget Session from Jan 31
The Budget Session of Parliament will begin on Wednesday, January 31. Being a general election year, it will be a truncated session of only eight working days, ending on February 9.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Budget, but it will be a truncated Budget. The full Budget will be presented after the new government takes oath, which is likely to take place sometime in May.
The session will begin with the President’s customary address to a joint session of both Houses.
The government has called a meeting of the floor leaders of all the parties tomorrow, that is, January 30.
