The security of the Ram temple, which is anticipated to witness a substantial rise in pilgrim visits following its January 22 inauguration, will incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) surveillance.

AI surveillance has the potential to identify recurring visitors or shared behavioural patterns among groups of individuals within the temple premises.

It can also detect any suspicious trends. An automatic security alert would be generated, enabling security agencies to take necessary follow-up actions.

The initial phase of AI surveillance is anticipated to commence as a pilot project. If proven effective over a period, there is potential for it to become an essential component of the security and surveillance protocols.

In addition to AI surveillance, it is anticipated that approximately 11,000 state police and paramilitary personnel will be deployed for the inauguration.
