After 10 months of the Maharashtra government appointing caterers to supply food and beverages at Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s official residence Varsha and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s residence Sagar at a cost of approximately Rs 3.5 crore and Rs 1.5 crore per year, respectively, a caterer has been appointed for Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s residence Devgiri at an annual cost of Rs 1.5 crore.

Thus the annual catering cost, to be paid with taxpayers’ money, for the residences of Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar comes to Rs 6.5 crore.

It is highly appalling for public representatives to spend such humongous amounts of taxpayer money for personal reasons.

In April 2023, Ajit Pawar alleged that the food and drinks bill at Varsha had touched a staggering Rs 2.68 crore in just four months. Well, it seems like he doesn’t want to be left behind as well.
