Kolkata Book Fair begins Jan 18
The 47th International Kolkata Book Fair (IKBF) will take place from January 18 to 31, 2024 at the Boimela Prangan at Central Park in Salt Lake. The theme country is Great Britain.
The starting has been advanced by more than a week this time (it commenced on January 31 this year) in order to include two public holidays—January 23 (Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthday) and January 26 (Republic Day)—within the book fair days so that more people can visit.
Besides, there are two Saturdays and Sundays as well, when too, large crowds are expected.
A three-day Kolkata Literature Festival will also be held at the IKBF from January 26 to 28.
The 47th Kolkata Book Fair will witness participation from countries like USA, France, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Australia, Bangladesh, Peru, Argentina and Columbia.
Publications from states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam, Jharkhand, Telangana, Kerala and Odisha are also expected.
The KIBF is the world’s largest book festival.
