Nobel in Literature to Jon Fosse
Norwegian author Jon Fosse is the winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature, given “for his innovative plays and prose which give voice to the unsayable”, the Royal Swedish Academy announced today (October 5).
The 64-year-old is one of the world’s most-performed playwrights. His extensive body of work includes plays, novels, poetry, essays, and children’s books.
Among Fosse’s famous plays are Someone is Going to Come, Nightsongs and Death Variations. His magnum opus in prose is Septology, which he completed in 2021.
